My Grounding Place is made with an original photograph and 10 layers of encaustic medium. The piece is 30" x 30" x 3" and is mounted in a repurposed frame made from floor joists from a factory in Downtown Toronto, on Queen Street West.

The Photography Series speaks to a moment in time that swept me away, where I lost sight of everything else around me. It was a magical moment of pure joy. This image was taken at the Toronto Beaches.

This piece is made with one of my original photographs that has been enhanced to create a replica of how the moment was captured in my memory. I then added 10 layers of encaustic medium on top of the archival photo to transform the image into a dream like state. On the final layer, other mixed media techniques were used to enhance the ethereal quality of this piece.
